The Town of Yountville is accepting applications for appointment to the Town Council to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Council Member Kerri Dorman.
Candidates must be at least 18 years of age, reside within the corporate limits of the Town of Yountville, and be registered to vote in the Town of Yountville.
Resumes and Statements of Qualification must be returned by 4:00 PM on Friday, January 28, 2022. The application form can be found and submitted online here. You may also download the application and submit it to Eddy Gomez at egomez@yville.com or in person at the Town Clerk’s Office, 6550 Yount St, Yountville, CA 94599.
The term of this Council seat is from the date of appointment to the date of December 1, 2022. If the candidate that gets appointed wants to remain in the seat; they will need to campaign and win a Town-wide election in November 2022. Two council seats will be up for election in November 2022 and the top two voter getters will sit on the Council.
Town Council will hold candidate interviews at the regular Town Council meeting on February 1, 2022. The Town Council will then consider each individual candidacy during a Town Council Meeting. The Town Council may decide at that meeting or may direct staff to place the matter on a future agenda for action as to their appointment.
Don’t forget, the person appointed gets to be the tie breaking vote for the position of Vice Mayor!
