The Town of Yountville has found a replacement for current Public Works Director, Joe Tagliaboschi. Starting August 1, 2021, Mr. John Ferrons steps in as the new Public Works Director as Mr. Tagliaboschi will retire on July 31, 2021
Mr. Ferons stated “I am honored to be appointed Public Works Director for the Town of Yountville. I embrace the opportunity to build on the legacy of the Town Manager, my predecessor, my colleagues, and the greater Yountville community to ensure that the Town remains the unique and special place that everyone knows and loves.”
It’s no surprise that John Ferons is stepping up into this position as he is currently serving as Deputy Public Works Director. His extensive years of both public and private sector civil engineering experience include working for three private consulting firms doing classic engineering, land development, and environmental restoration. In the public sector, he spent eight years in the St. Helena Public Works Department and was a senior civil engineer in charge of the CIP Design Division for the City of Napa.
With this diverse experience, John Ferons’s expertise covers public works, including municipal operations, facility management, street maintenance, water treatment and distribution, wastewater collection and treatment, fleet operations, floodplain administration, traffic and transportation, capital improvement engineering, and public contract bidding and construction oversight.
Town Manager Steven Rogers noted, “John Ferons career background including roles in both large and small communities and his time working in Yountville as Deputy Director has uniquely prepared him for this promotion opportunity. We are fortunate to have developed a succession planning process that will serve our Public Works Department and the Town organization well.”
