January Poetry Events

Get your creative juices flowing for the New Year with two poetry events in January.

The first event is “Poetry is food for the soul” which celebrates the themes of Hope, Gratitude, New Beginnings, and Community. Poetry and food will be served at the Yountville Community Center on January 8th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, led by John Petraglia and Marianne Lyon. You can also send your poems in.

The Napa Library’s “Painting to Poem” Ekphrastic Poetry Gathering on January 12th from 12 noon to 2 p.m. provides a unique opportunity for the community to experience both art and poetry in one. Poet Laureate Marianne Lyon and painter. Jim McDonald, as well as Nancy Gates, will be featured at this event, which will take place at the Napa Library. Poems in the Ekphrastic style are those that take their cues from visual art.
