Yountville’s PTAP Rating Tops Napa Valley

The Metropolitan Transportation Commission’s (MTC) Pavement Management Technical Assistance Program (PTAP) is the federal program implemented by MTC to assist local agencies to stretch their street maintenance budgets by providing a bi-annual grant to evaluate pavement conditions and provide engineering recommendations for pavement treatment.

The Town is participating in PTAP-22 and has been assigned a paving consultant, Pavement Engineering Inc. (PEI) to evaluate our street network. PEI will be moving through Town to perform the street ratings and will develop our new Pavement Condition Index (PCI). This is the PCI number that grades our overall street network from 0 to 100.

At present, the Town’s PCI is 75 which is the highest in the Napa Valley and we expect it to improve with the recent paving projects and the PTAP rating. It might not be a competition, but we’ll take the best score anyways!
