At the last Town Council meeting, the Town of Yountville voted to update its ordinance to be in compliance with new recycling laws mandated by the State. The company responsible for the recycling is Upper Valley Disposal (Recycling) Service (UVDS).
There is a video floating out there that makes many claims against the Upper Valley Disposal Recycling (UVDS) about their mismanagement of the Clover Flat Landfill in Calistoga. UVDS is the company that manages disposal for Yountville and other upper valley municipalities through a JPA (joint powers authority) and it appears that the Mayor of St Helena, Geoff Elsworth, is heading up a lot of this “discussion” about the harms of Clover Flat. In the past six months, all the members of the JP; St Helena, Calistoga, Yountville, and County Supervisors have voted to update their contract and continue services with UVDS.
