The Town of Yountville Parking Ad Hoc Committee, comprised of Vice Mayor Dorman and Council Member Knight, met this week with Planning Director, Public Works Director, and Town Manager to discuss the committee’s focus moving forward. Well, this is very interesting… as the businesses come back up to full speed, the Economic Recovery Plan is discussed, the parking spaces on Washington St have been added in the north part of Town. What do the future discussions hold? Gone are the days of waxing poetically about how great it is to have no visitors in Jan/Feb, for we just experienced a whole year of parking wherever the hell your heart desires, and we cannot afford that experiment again.
Will they continue to try and get employees out of the neighborhoods? I do hope they have the foresight and insight to meld the community of locals with the employees and the visitors. The parking spaces in the public right of way on Washington St have proved to be successful. What will the next steps be? Reach out to them and discuss your thoughts, concerns and ideas.
