Join Napa County Poet Laureate Marianne Lyon for two upcoming poetry events, a Haiku workshop and Teacher to Poem. The Haiku Workshop is scheduled on Wednesday, November 10, at 12 pm at the American Canyon Library. Hosted by Poet Laureate Marianne Lyon and Napa Valley Writers, Dominic Triglia and Jim McDonald, This event not only includes a creative writing workshop but also poetry discussion, and some simple zen paintings on the side.
On Saturday, November 13th, the Napa County office of education will be hosting an event called Teacher to Poem. This event is designed to give students the opportunity to share their poems with other students and teachers. Here’s a chance to offer a poem to a teacher who inspired you. County Superintendent Barbara Nemko will send a found poem fashioned from your poems to all the teachers in Napa County.
