Napa Valley Vine Trail to Benefit Under New Infrastructure Bill

Good news for the county – The Napa Valley Vine trail will receive a $3 million infrastructure investment as part of the U.S. House of Representatives’ approval of a $715 billion infrastructure plan.

Once approved by the House of the Senate and President Joe Biden, this bill would benefit California greatly as it secures $900 million in California state funds allocated for infrastructure projects such as bike lanes, railways, electric vehicle charging stations, zero-emission transit fleets, tunnels, transportation hubs, wastewater, and drinking water projects.

The Napa Valley Trail is one of 200 California projects that could receive funding. The funding would go to expand the trail to connect the Vallejo Ferry Terminal to the city of Calistoga — a stretch of 47 miles. Currently, this trail is 12 miles long and connects Kennedy Park to Yountville. This newly proposed bill would be the largest infrastructure expansion in 75 years: a 50% increase compared to the previous budget.
