Geoff Belyea Announces Resignation as Napa County Fire Chief

Napa County Fire Chief Geoff Belyea is moving on from the Napa County Fire Department onto a new role with American Canyon. Beginning on September 12, 2021, Fire Chief Geoff Belyea will be stepping down from Napa County’s Fire Chief and liaison to CAL FIRE and stepping into the role of Assistant Fire Chief at the American Canyon Fire District.

“While we are saddened that Chief Belyea is resigning, we wish him the very best,” said CAL FIRE Unit Chief Shana Jones of the Sonoma Lake Napa Unit. “We have an amazing group of the very best trained firefighters in the nation, and we are confident that we can respond to the needs of the community at a moment’s notice. CAL FIRE and the Napa County Fire Department remain committed to our residents and communities within
 the county.”

In the meantime, CAL FIRE’s assistant chief, Jason Martin, will act as the agency’s interim while it looks for a new chief.
