It’s no longer just for yard waste! The Upper Valley Disposal and Recycling is encouraging the residents to place all food and food-soiled paper in the green compost cart. This new service is one of the ways that Upper Valley Disposal and Recycling aims to create a circular economy. Currently, UVDR services Yountville, St. Helena, Pope Valley, and Calistoga.
To support the residents to begin composting, UVDR will provide all residential customers with a kitchen compost pail starting in July. The pails will be delivered over the next few months with pick-up options available as well. There is no need to wait for the pail; all food and food-soiled paper can go in the green cart right away.
