Diane Dillon will not seek re-election in 2022

After serving five terms, that’s 20 years, Napa County Supervisor Diane Dillon will not seek re-election in 2022. Dillon represents District 3, Yountville, St Helena Calistoga, Angwin Pope Valley, Lake Berryessa & the north edge of Napa. As a fifth-generation Napa Valley resident, she has served her County well, and I personally welcome a new set of eyes and experience to move into the District 3 seat.

As Dillion stated, “The board of Supervisors continue to face unprecedented challenges from the pandemic and fires, and there is much yet to do on these issues while running our County well and securely on a path to a sustainable future. We also face a new challenge to integrate large mandatory Housing element Numbers into our slow growth General Plan.” This County has seen an increase in wineries and construction in the past twenty years, and this group must work to ensure the economic success of all of them during these times. And all those employees required for all those businesses you approved need to live somewhere, and the onus should not be laid at the feet of the Cities and Town; the County needs to have an effective plan. We all saw the housing numbers coming, and decisions need to be made.

As I am sure many will step up, we need to assure that those who wish to replace Ms Dillon have set plans and goals to solve some of these issues.
