Now the honorary title of Napa County Poet Laureate extends to local youth! Kids between the ages of 13 and 18 can apply to be the first-ever Napa County Youth Poet Laureate.
This will be an annual position that seeks to uplift and support young writers in the community who are committed to the literary arts, poetry, and performance. The selected teen for this position will be an ambassador for poetry, promote literary arts, and serve to heighten the appreciation of poetry in all forms. Since this is the inaugural year of the program, it’s imperative to make creative teens aware that they can apply to become Napa County’s first-ever Youth Poet Laureate.
Applications for the Youth Poet Laureate opened on September 10th and will close on October 8th.
