Election 2022 Is Going to Be a Big Year for Napa County, and It Starts Now

With the two most veteran County Supervisors deciding not to run for re-election, Napa County has a great opportunity to have some serious discussions Bout the future of our Valley. Supervisors Brad Wagenknecht and Diane Dillon will be stepping down in 2022 and have left plenty of time for prospective candidates to share their future ideas and visions for Napa County. I am a believer in new ideas, thoughts, experiences, and insights for Napa County. I welcome serious dialogue on businesses operating in the County and the improvements needed for traffic, housing, and water.

An interesting twist: the 2020 Census will lead to new redistricting for Napa County, which could affect potential candidates currently living on the edges of District 1 (Wagenknecht) and District 3 (Dillion). Four candidates have stepped up for District 3, including Yountville, St. Helena City Councilmember Anna Chouteau, Napa County Planning Commissioner Anne Cottrell, farmer Lucio Perez, and Napa Valley College Trustee Ines De Luna One candidate for District 1, Napa County Planning Commissioner, Joelle Gallagher. The Napa Farm Bureau and Napa Vision 2050 will be a big part of this process with ideas, needs, and endorsements.

Dillon is quoted as saying, “There may be people running for office who have lots of experience on issues, but just haven’t sat as supervisors.” I have no issue with that; let them step into this process, and let’s begin the conversation.
