NVV Sponsors Mobile Vaccination Clinics for Youth

Napa Valley Vintners (NVV) has committed to sponsoring six days of COVID-19 vaccination clinics for Napa Valley youth at locations across the county. In partnership with the Saint Helena Hospital Foundation’s mobile health unit, the clinics will bring COVID-19 vaccines to children ages 5 and up at the following locations:

American Canyon: Wednesday, December 15 and Wednesday, January 5, 3 – 6 p.m. at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Napa Valley – AmCan Clubhouse, 60 Benton Way

Napa: Tuesday, December 14 and Tuesday, January 4, 3 – 6 p.m. at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Napa Valley, 1515 Pueblo Ave

Calistoga: Friday, December 10, 3 – 6 p.m. at Calistoga Junior-Senior High, 1608 Lake Street

No appointment is necessary. Children must have a parent present to be vaccinated. All individuals must wear a mask. For second doses and boosters, please bring your vaccine card. Dr. Rochelle Walensky, director of the CDC, is quoted in the agency’s recommendation of vaccination for this population, saying that many parents “are eager to get their children vaccinated and with this decision, we now have recommended that about 28 million children receive a COVID-19 vaccine.”

In its authorization of the vaccine for this group, the FDA noted that in a study of more than 3,000 youth in this age group, no serious side effects were detected.
