Not Enough Water, Again

Nothing but bad news when it comes to reading about water levels in California and again another drought. State water officials are forecasting the need for conversation and drought mitigation measures. Napa County is in an area shown as in severe drought as we only received about 45% of normal rainfall this year.

The Veterans Home sent official notice that they are not guaranteeing that they can deliver our 500 acre-feet allotment and requesting us to reduce water purchases by 20% to 400-acre feet for the next fiscal year, starting July 1, 2021. And as you all know from our Water 101 article, the Vets home is our main water source. The Council meeting on April 6 will have an informational report of what this all means for Yountville and outline the Town’s measures and process for implementing water conservation practices.
