Napa Valley Vintners UNCF Scholarship Promotes Inclusivity in Wine Career

There’s a world full of opportunities to make a difference in the wine industry, and Napa Valley Vintners (NVV) is committed to ensuring that everyone has the chance to be part of it.

To that end, NVV is pleased to continue its support for students from diverse backgrounds who are pursuing a career in wine with the opening of the next round of scholarships through UNCF (United Negro College Fund).

The NVV’s scholarship program is designed specifically for students who wish to pursue a degree in enology or viticulture and business and marketing courses related to the wine industry. Scholarships will be awarded based on financial need and a demonstrated commitment to pursuing a career in the wine industry. Recipients will receive support toward college tuition this fall, with the ability to receive continued funding for up to four years. Eligible students range from first- and second-year students through seniors and graduate students. Candidates of color are encouraged to apply.

In addition to financial support, the scholarship program enables recipients the opportunity to participate in a paid summer internship at one of NVV’s member wineries. This provides hands-on experience in all aspects of wine production, including agriculture and marketing. Not only do students gain valuable experience in their chosen field, but they also get insight into careers they may not have considered before.

The deadline to apply is May 19, 2022. Interested applicants should go to https://scholarships.uncf.org/ToProgram/Napavalley
