Lake Hennessey Boat Dock Closing

Friday, August 13th, 2021, comes with some unlucky news. The Lake Hennessey Boat Launch and Dock will be closing for the season. The City of Napa reports record-low water levels at Lake Hennessey due to the region’s current drought. This makes it necessary to close the boat launch for the safety of the public and to protect the lake’s water quality.

The shallow water has been forcing boaters to enter the Late with their vehicles in order to launch their boats, which can potentially affect the water quality. Not to mention that it’s prohibited to make bodily contact or walk in the water while launching your water vessels. This includes kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards.

The boat dock is likely to stay closed until December or later, depending on the quantity of winter rain the region receives and the Lake’s levels, though the Lake Hennessey parking lot will remain open.

Visit the City’s Water Conservation page to learn more about how you can cut back on water usage and mitigate the drought.
