George C. Yount Pioneer Cemetery of Yountville Will Be An Official Location for the 2022 National Wreaths Across America Day

The cemetery will join the more than 3,100 participating locations across the country to remember, honor, and teach on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2022, at 9 am.

This is the FIRST year that the cemetery in Yountville will participate in this national program.

With last year’s success of wreaths being laid at the Veterans Home Cemetery in Yountville, community member and Council Member Marjorie Mohler wanted to also honor the 100+ Veterans laid to rest in our local cemetery. With the assistance of the Yountville Cemetery Association, they determined the location of the veterans at this site.

The goal for George C. Yount Pioneer Cemetery is to raise enough funds to place 126 sponsored veterans’ wreaths on the headstones of all the local heroes laid to rest there. To ensure that the individuals who served to protect our country’s freedoms never be forgotten and to bring the community together in patriotic commemoration.

Please help us honor and remember as many fallen heroes as possible by sponsoring remembrance wreaths, volunteering on Wreaths Day, or inviting your family and friends to attend with you. Wreaths are $15.

To sponsor a wreath or volunteer to lay the wreaths at the George C. Yount Pioneer Cemetery, please visit www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/CA0703. Be sure to click through to this specific site so your wreath will be for the George C. Yount Cemetery in Yountville.
