Beat the heat this summer in one of Yountville’s several cooling centers for the community. This past week had record-breaking temperatures for many places around the United States, included the Napa Valley with temperatures reaching over 100 degrees. And you can bet that these toasty temperatures will be a reality for the Town this summer. Do you know where you can go to cool off?
Last week, there was some concern over the residents of the Mobile Home Communities having access to air conditioning needed assistance. The Staff has reached out to these communities to follow up on what resources were available. In previous years, the Town has opened the Community Hall as another location for community members who do not have air conditioning to cool off.
The staff learned that Rancho de Napa’s Club House is open and air-conditioned for anyone who needs a cooling center. Bella Vista has also confirmed that they too have an air-conditioned clubhouse for anyone without air conditioning. With these two resources available to the Mobile Home Communities, the Community Hall Cooling Center will be opened only in the event of a power outage; though of course, if anyone comes into the Center needing a place to cool off, they will be accommodated!
