Call for Artist: Roundabout Public Art Project

The City of Napa recently announced a new project that will feature site-specific sculptural artwork for the Southeast corner of 1st Street (not in the center of the roundabout) and is seeking local artists. As one of the projects of the City, this Roundabout Public Art Project aims to achieve the following main goals:

  • Enhance Downtown Napa’s image as a world-class destination;
  • Be iconic and a true gateway piece;
  • Be site-specific and original; and
  • Be viewable as a drive-by experience.

Artists must have experience producing a minimum of two permanent, exterior public artworks similar in scale and complexity to this project. The City’s public art fund will provide the necessary finances for the project, compiled from 1% of commercial developers’ fees as required by the City’s public art ordinance.

The deadline for submission is on Friday, Nov. 12. Check out more details of the project and how to submit a proposal.
