After 34 years in business, Asia Café will be closing on June 11th. Their neighbor, Henry’s Bar, closed in January of 2020. It appears as though Napa is leaving its blue-color past behind, as these two have been the number one candidates for Gentrification in the valley.
My family has dined there since early ’90s. Wonderful little restaurant serving great food. Friendly, unpretentious owners whose four children are now adults. I’m saddened; however, best wishes to them.
This is the second family to own this business. The first family was the Soons, which I can not spell. The boys in the family are, Stan, Steve, and Henry. I did not know the parents but I spent a lot of my time with Steve when I was a boy. I am 65 now and we were friends when I was in my Twenties. So do the math for me and see that this makes the business go way past 30 something years old. I do not mean to offend I just thought I would add some more history to this fine old family business.
