The Lake Hennessey Boat Dock and Launch Ramp are available to the public once again. Boaters may now launch from the boat launch (ramp) effective immediately.
As previously reported last August, record-low water levels at Lake Hennessey as a result of the region’s ongoing drought have necessitated the closure of the boat launch.
Despite the reopening, authorities are still advising visitors to still be on the lookout for floating debris water remains more shallow than historic levels
As a precaution, it is prohibited to launch canoes and kayaks from the lakeshore or from any point other than the boat dock, and it is also unauthorized to have physical contact with or step in the water.
Lake Hennessey is for day use only, and the parking lot is open from 7 AM to 5 PM daily, through February 28, 2022.
