Napa County Appoints New Agricultural Commissioner

The County of Napa has hired Tracy Cleveland to serve as its next Agricultural Commissioner/sealer as of April 5, The Ag Commissioner is tasked with promoting agriculture and protecting workers, the community, and the environment. As the sealer of weights and measures, the position also promotes equity in the marketplace to protect consumers and businesses. Cleveland has 18 years of experience in the Napa County agricultural commissioner’s office. She holds a degree in ecology from Sonoma State University. In 2016, she was promoted to the assistant agricultural commissioner, where she helped manage the office’s daily operations, providing oversight and administration of the many programs within the department. She has been acting as the interim agricultural commissioner since late January 2021 and will certainly have a role in any upcoming changes to Agriculture burn policies and regulations. 

“I am honored and privileged to serve in Napa County,” said Tracy. “I look forward to my new role as the Agricultural Commissioner. I am excited to continue working with the department’s dedicated staff as we continue our efforts to collaborate closely with industry and our other partners.”
