Napa Valley’s radio station KVON will flip to a 100% Spanish format, effective Jan. 3rd. The stations’ parent company, Wine Down Media, hopes the format change will appeal to Napa County’s sizable Hispanic community. The new stations are expected to carry popular Spanish-language content.
As part of the revamping of the lineup, Some KVON segments will be transferred to KVYN. Mornings on The Vine will be taken over by a “reinvented” version of KVON’s “Wine Country Live” morning program hosted by Barry Martin. Jamie Miller, a former employee of the station, will return to provide features to the program, hailed as “a variety show featuring community stories, current trends, and features.”
