Last year, food assistance saved many families from going hungry and the Napa Farmers Market was a big part of those efforts. Not only do they consistently support over 30 small farms and 70 small business vendors, they provided over $65,000 in food assistance help to our low-income neighbors put more farm fresh fruits and veggies on their plates.
This year they are fundraising to continue supporting the local community and you can help! They recently launched their new program, Friends of the Market, to help meet their $26,000 goal by July 31st. All proceeds will go to enriching the customer experience, enhancing education activities at our market, and supporting their food assistance and nutrition incentive programs.
Any donation amount is accepted; however, they set up a tiered donation system to make it more fun. Be a radish for $50, a tomato for $100, an eggplant for $200, or lettuce for $500! This is an easy way give back to your community. What are you waiting for?
